It is the , an event of the National Rendezvous and Living History Foundation (NRLHF). This event will be held September 23-30, 2017 in East Smithfield PA. Student Day will be Tuesday, Sept. 26th, 10 am-4 p.m. Students who attend on this day will have access to the entire encampment and experience what life during the 1640-1840 time period was like. Students need to be accompanied by an adult. There is no charge to the students, but a $5 fee is asked of adults. This is an educational opportunity that most students have never had or may never have again. I have requested an excused absence from the districts so if you are interested in attending please check to see if they will honor that. This will be a unique experience for all age children. The Rendezvous participants will be willing to talk with and answer questions presented. They love what they do and love to talk about it too. An example of the kind of learning opportunities is what my husband, a Mountain Man Fur Trade Era portrayer does. He has hides and furs available for the children to touch and learn about where the animals live, what they eat and what their furs might be used for. There will also be people who portray the French & Indian War, the American Revolution, Pennsylvania Longhunters, and some who live and dress as the Westward bound pioneers did. Please consider this educational opportunity as the school year approaches. In past years home school and charter students have been offered this experience, but I want to extend it to all of the local school district students . SEMINAR POSTINGS Uhma Ruth has offered to present a seminar on making a Native Feather Fan, Sunday, at 2 p.m. Cost will be $20-25 depending on the size of the fan. If you bring your own feather fan...
